Alberta lowered the passing score in the new selection

The province continues to delight hundreds of candidates.

The province of Alberta has released the results of the selection process, which took place on June 5. On that day, the Alberta Immigration Program issued 191 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province. The drawing took place among candidates who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.

The minimum score of the complex ranking system was 300. This is 1 point lower than the previous selection, which took place on May 18.

Applicants were required to have a profile in the Express Entry system in order to receive an invitation to selection. Express Entry is the system that the federal government of Canada uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This virtually guarantees an invitation to apply in a subsequent Express Entry drawing. Points are awarded for factors such as age, education, work experience, English or French language skills and others.

To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a nomination from the Province of Alberta, keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
