Quebec launches three immigration pilots

Workers in certain fields will have a chance to get a permanent residence permit.

On March 3, the Quebec government announced the launch of three immigration pilots designed to attract candidates working in professions in demand in the province:

  • workers in the food processing industry;
  • the orderlies;
  • specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, information technology and visual effects.

For each pilot, up to 550 candidates will be invited annually. Acceptance of applications will begin in March-April, depending on the program. The pilots will be valid for 5 years, until January 1, 2026.

Almost all of these programs require a good knowledge of French and work experience in Quebec or graduation from a Quebec university. In addition, the candidate will have to prove that he or she has enough money in his or her account to support himself or herself and his or her family.

If the candidate is successful in the selection process, the accompanying family members will also receive an invitation to immigrate.
