Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot: North Bay, Ontario

Applicants must receive a community recommendation. For this, you must meet the requirements of the immigration program and the requirements of the town where you plan to move.
Federal requirements
All applicants interested in applying for a recommendation from North Bay must meet the requirements of the federal government:
- 1 year of work experience within the last 3 years;
- high school education;
- language proficiency at the level appropriate to the profession;
- sufficient amount of money;
- job offer in a community.
North Bay community requirements
North Bay has no additional requirements for applicants but gives preference to those who are more likely to settle and work in the community.
Criteria by which candidates are evaluated:
- English and/or French proficiency;
- education corresponding to an in-demand occupation;
- driver's license;
- work experience in a priority occupation in North Bay (list below);
- age;
- experience of living in a small or rural community;
- relatives or friends in North Bay;
- an exploratory visit to North Bay for at least 5 nights;
- current work in North Bay;
- graduation from a North Bay institution;
- criteria for the spouse: language proficiency, education or work experience relevant to a priority occupation, a job offer in North Bay, graduation from an institution in North Bay.
You should also be prepared for a 15–30-minute video interview with a community representative. Those who are in North Bay at the time of application may need to be interviewed in person.

- health care and social work;
- trades occupations;
- business and administration;
- information technology;
- some professions from other fields.

The community committee reserves the right to accept or not accept candidates who have received a job offer in an occupation not included in the list. The city will invite no more than 10 such candidates per year.
