Immigration draw for agricultural workers in Alberta

Another targeted provincial selection.

On January 11, Alberta held an immigration draw for employees in the agri-food sector. Forty-four applicants with 312 points or more in the Comprehensive Ranking System received invitations. Points are awarded for age, education, work experience, language skills and so on.

Among the prerequisites for participation in this stream are a job offer in the province and registration in the Express Entry system. The province selects suitable candidates from the general pool and sends them a notice of interest. The successful candidate must meet the requirements of one of the federal programs:

The previous time agricultural workers were invited by the province was on Oct. 3, the passing grade was 1 point higher then.
