First selection Express Entry in 2024
The general draw on federal immigration programs.
On January 10, the first general immigration screening in the Express Entry system was held. A total of 1,510 candidates with at least 546 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System received invitations.
Express Entry is Canada's system for selecting applicants for federal immigration programs. There are three in total:
Before that, general drawings were held twice in December: on 18 and 6. The passing score has changed little since then. But back at the end of 2023, there were several targeted selections for specialists from certain fields (trade occupations, transportation and agriculture). The threshold score is much lower for representatives of such in-demand professions.
