Third target selection Express Entry in a row

Third target selection Express Entry in a row

For agricultural workers.

This week saw the fourth immigration draw in the Express Entry system. Like the last two, it is intended for a special category of applicants, this time for candidates with experience in the agriculture and agri-food industry. A total of 400 invitations were sent out on December 21.

The passing score for successful participants of this selection was only 386 points, which is quite low even in comparison with other target selections. However, the drawing of invitations among agricultural workers was held for only the second time, and the first time — September 28 — the passing score was even lower.

Points in the Comprehensive Ranking System are awarded for age, work experience, language skills, education, having a job offer in Canada, ability to adapt to the country, and so on.

The Express Entry system has regular drawings for the three federal immigration programs:

The agri-food sector occupations are one of the six types of targeted selections, Innovation 2023. The full list of relevant occupations for selections in this sector, as well as a list of all other categories, you can read here.

To participate in the targeted selection for agricultural workers, you must have at least 6 months of work experience in the required specialty in the last 3 years.
