A new thousand invitations from Quebec.

The province reported on the December selection.

The Province of Quebec has published the results of the immigration draw held on December 7. As in previous times, many candidates received invitations, this time 1,187.

Applicants meeting one of the following criteria were selected:

  • to have a job offer outside of Montreal and its suburbs;
  • or have an oral French proficiency of level 7 in the provincial grading system (above average) and score 604 points in the Arrima grading system.

Points in the Arrima system are awarded for language skills (primarily French), education, work experience, age, profession, and having a job offer in Quebec.

This time, the passing score was down slightly from the same selection that took place November 16 — by 5 points.

Quebec is the only province in Canada with its own immigration system. The region sets the criteria for selecting applicants independently of the federal government.
