Truckers will no longer be able to obtain a Certificate of Qualification
Applicants need to update their profiles.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that it has updated the list of professions that are eligible for the Certificate of Qualification. More precisely, truck drivers have been excluded from the list.
Certificate of Qualification is a document confirming that a person has the right to work in Canada in his or her profession. In fact, its presence indicates that the employee, firstly, meets all the requirements, and, secondly, passed the certification exam. This document gives candidates an additional 50 points in the Express Entry system.
The removal of the truck driving profession from the list means that all applicants in the Express Entry pool who had this specialization listed should update their profiles as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in errors that are disadvantageous to both Ministry staff and applicants.
