Results of British Columbia's immigration draw on August 22
There are slightly more invitations than usual this time.
On August 22, British Columbia held a new drawing for immigration candidates under the provincial program. A total of 230 people were invited, some with in-demand occupations.
169 invitations were distributed among the following categories:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 106;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 109;
- Entry-level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 88.
Another 61 invitations were sent to candidates with in-demand occupations who scored 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 33 invitations;
- health professionals — 23 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
British Columbia awards points for factors such as education, work experience, language skills, employer location, and salary. You must also find a job in the province before applying for immigration.
British Columbia conducted the previous selection on August 9, and the passing scores were almost unchanged. On August 15, a targeted draw was held, inviting only specialists with in-demand professions.
