New Express Entry drawings: scores are high again

New Express Entry drawings: scores are high again

But this week, Canada promises to hold another immigration selection.

On August 1 and 2, Canada held new selections for applicants for all federal immigration programs through the Express Entry system. 2,800 people received invitations.

Express Entry is a system used in Canada to select applicants for federal immigration programs:

On August 1, Canada selected a total of 2,000 people who scored between 517 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System. That's a pretty high score that not every applicant can achieve. For example, in the previous general drawing, which happened on July 11, the minimum score was 505.

On August 2, 800 more applicants were invited, but only with a minimum of CLB 7 level of French, which is approximately equal to B2 level (upper-intermediate). But the passing score for them was much lower — 435. And in the previous selection for francophones on July 12, candidates only needed to score 375.

Points in Express Entry are awarded for factors such as education, language skills, age, availability of a job offer in Canada, ability to adapt to the country, and so on.
