Manitoba selected only one category of immigration candidates
They received significantly more invitations than usual.
On July 20, Manitoba issued immigration invitations to skilled workers overseas. They will be able to obtain permanent residency in the province.
Invitations were extended to 595 candidates who scored a minimum of 611 points in the provincial scoring system. Points are awarded for age, work experience, language skills, education, connections to Manitoba and other Canadian provinces. 340 of those invited were registered in the Express Entry system.
Manitoba rarely makes special selections for workers overseas. Such candidates usually receive a few invitations, and in addition to them, the province selects skilled workers in Manitoba and international graduates. The previous such draw was on July 13.
