British Columbia holds another round of invitations
About 200 people will be able to immigrate to the province.
On May 30, the province of British Columbia held an immigration draw in which it selected 196 candidates.
151 invitations were sent in the general draw for the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 104;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 107;
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 85.
The remaining 45 participants were invited in a targeted selection process for certain professions. Candidates needed to score 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 26 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 14 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
The previous general draw in the province was on May 16. For educators, health professionals, and veterinarians, there was another drawing on May 23. All passing scores remained unchanged.
British Columbia awards points for work experience, language skills, education, employer location, and salary. You must find a job in the province before you can apply for immigration.
