More than 1,000 invitations to immigrate to Saskatchewan again
The province has been making some very big selections lately.
On May 18, Saskatchewan held an immigration draw for professionals who applied for the provincial immigration program.
Invitations were extended to 1,044 candidates:
- specialists with a profile in the Express Entry system — 784 invitations;
- occupations in-demand — 260 invitations.
Participants in both streams needed to score a minimum of 67 points for education, work experience, language skills, age, and ties to the region. They also needed to have work experience in one of the following occupations:
- manufacturing and transportation logistics coordinators;
- land surveyors;
- data scientists;
- cybersecurity specialists;
- business systems specialists;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- computer systems developers and programmers;
- software engineers and programmers;
- web designers;
- web developers and programmers;
- mechanical engineers;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- computer network and web technology technicians;
- user support technicians;
- occupational therapists;
- paramedical professions;
- medical laboratory technologists;
- medical radiation technology;
- medical sonographers;
- cardiology technologists and electrophysiology diagnostic technologists;
- therapists in counseling and allied therapies;
- wholesale sales technicians;
- facility operations and maintenance managers;
- machinists and machining and tooling inspectors;
- welders and operators of appropriate machines;
- industrial electricians;
- construction millers and industrial mechanics;
- heavy equipment mechanics;
- automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics, and repair mechanics;
- agricultural service contractors and farm managers;
- power engineers and power system operators.
The previous selection in Saskatchewan was held on May 3, and the passing score was 1 point higher.
