Canada held a special Express Entry draw for the first time
There hasn't been a draw like this for a very long time!
On February 1, Canada held another draw in the Express Entry system, but only for candidates with provincial nominations.
There were 893 nominees who scored a minimum of 733 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System. The last draw for candidates with nominations took place on June 22, 2022, and the minimum score was 19 points higher.
Express Entry is the system Canada uses to select candidates for federal immigration programs:
Candidates are awarded points for age, education, work experience, language skills, and other factors.
A provincial nomination automatically adds 600 points. Thus, excluding the nomination, invited applicants only needed to score 133 points for the other factors. The nomination is given to those who applied for one of the provincial immigration programs and received an invitation.
