Average weekly wages for Canadians across all provinces and industries

When choosing a province to live in, it is very important to start by researching of the average salary and monthly expenses, which are very different.

Based on data released by Statistics Canada, total average weekly earnings are up 4.2 per cent over the 2021 figures. It now stands at $1,180.21 CAD. The office also released figures for all provinces in various industries.

Almost all provinces saw job losses. Newfoundland and Labrador (-35.3%) had the fewest job losses, followed by Manitoba (-26.5%) and New Brunswick (-21.8%). Ontario, Quebec and Alberta had smaller proportional declines. In the remaining provinces, the number of vacancies remained stable.

Statistics show that residents of the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon earn more. Among the provinces, the highest salaries are in Alberta.

Comparison of weekly income by industry

Undoubtedly, the weekly income figures are industry-related. The most promising in this regard are mining, quarrying, and oil and gas production.
