Nova Scotia has invited francophones in a new draw

The province has not held draws since the beginning of the year.

On November 7, Nova Scotia held an immigration draw under the provincial immigration program. 150 people were selected to receive a provincial nomination in the Labour Market Priorities stream.

This time the requirements were as follows:

  • French is selected as the first language and its level is 10 or higher on the CLB scale;
  • English is selected as the second language and its level is 7 or higher on the CLB scale;
  • education is a bachelor's degree or completion of a 3-year university or college program.

Nova Scotia uses the Labour Market Priorities stream to invite applicants from the Express Entry pool who meet the draw requirements. Selected applicants receive a letter of interest from the province and can accept or reject it.

If a candidate accepts the letter, they can receive a nomination from Nova Scotia, adding 600 points to Express Entry. This almost guarantees that the candidate will be selected in the next Express Entry drawing and will be able to apply for PR.

The previous draw in the Labour Market Priorities stream was on February 8, 2022. It invited registered nurses with 3 years of work experience and fluency in English.
