Canadian province announced its preference for immigration candidates

This is how the region fights the backlog in processing applications.

The province of New Brunswick has announced that immigration applications from certain applicants will be processed on a priority basis until the end of 2022. The change concerns the Skilled Worker stream.

The following applicants are prioritized:

  • francophone candidates;
  • New Brunswick graduates;
  • candidates in 12 IT and health care occupations.

The specialties are as follows:

Applications from other candidates are still accepted but may take longer to be processed. To avoid delays, you can use either other streams of the New Brunswick immigration program or the Atlantic Immigration Program.

New Brunswick's Skilled Worker stream also requires a job offer in the province and either 1 year of work experience or graduation from a New Brunswick educational institution.
