Alberta invited candidates in a new drawing

The passing score went up.

The province of Alberta has released information about the latest provincial immigration program draw which took place on July 29. Invitations were received by 120 candidates registered in the Express Entry system. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score was 473.

Compared to the previous drawing, which took place on June 21, the passing score has increased significantly, while the number of invitations has decreased.

To be invited, applicants had to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process applications for permanent residency under the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded 600 extra points. This virtually guarantees an invitation to the next Express Entry drawing.
