British Columbia revises its immigration policy for businessmen

The flow of immigration for entrepreneurs who want to start or acquire a business is on pause.

B.C. has decided not to resume accepting applications under the Entrepreneur Immigration — Base Category stream for now. The province wants to make sure the eligibility requirements meet its current priorities, which are outlined in StrongerBC's 2022 economic plan.

The stream conditions are promised to be revised by May 1, 2022. All applications for this stream that have already been accepted for processing remain valid. Candidates who have received an invitation to apply from the province, but have not had time to apply yet, have the right to do so, they are not subject to a temporary pause.

Also, the registration suspension does not apply to streams Entrepreneur Immigration — Regional Pilot and Entrepreneur Immigration — Strategic Projects.
