Alberta called for more candidates in the new selection

Passing grades are down.

On February 1, as part of the provincial immigration program, the Alberta government sent out 400 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The drawing was held among applicants who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.

The minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 340. This is four points lower than in the previous selection, which took place on January 18.

To be invited into the drawing, applicants had to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This almost guarantees an invitation to the subsequent Express Entry drawing.

To increase your chances of receiving an invitation from the Province of Alberta, keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
