Express Entry breaks records again

Express Entry breaks records again

For the first time in the history of the selections, Canada invited more than 1,000 candidates with provincial nominations.

On June 23, Canada sent 1,002 invitations to candidates registered in Express Entry. Luck favoured participants in provincial programs. In this category, the past selection was again a record number of invitations.

The minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 742, 31 points higher than it was in the previous selection, which took place on June 9. The scoring requirement may seem high, but that's because all the invited entrants had previously received provincial nominations. Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination are automatically awarded 600 points on top of their original score for age, education, language skills and other factors.

Express Entry is Canada's system for selecting qualified immigrants through three federal economic class programs:

Because of the small number of new immigrants admitted in 2020, Canada has set an ambitious target for 2021 of admitting 401,000 candidates. Record-breaking selections show that the country is determined to reach that target.

To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Express Entry selection, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
