On March 24, Saskatchewan sent out 418 invitations to applicants to apply for the province's nomination and to further pursue permanent residency in Canada.

The drawing was held among candidates from the international skilled worker stream in two categories: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand.

A total of 72 candidates received invitations in the Express Entry category. A further 176 candidates received invitations in the Occupations In-Demand category. Applicants in both categories were required to score a minimum of 70 points — down 1 point from the previous selection, which took place on 11 March 2021.

Invited candidates had experience in one of 89 suitable occupations. Some examples of suitable occupations include corporate sales managers, data processing specialists, electrical and electronics engineers and technicians, advertising and marketing managers, and others.

To participate in the selection process, candidates in both categories had to create and complete profiles in the system Expression of Interest and Certify a degree to know its equivalent in Canada.

Provincial Saskatchewan uses the Expression of Interest system to select candidates who have the greatest potential to succeed in the regional labour market.

Candidates' commitment to building a life in Saskatchewan is assessed on 5 factors: work experience, education, language, age and connections to the province. A maximum of 100 points can be scored.
