Ontario immigration officials will publish their blacklist
It will include employees, their representatives and employers.
Starting May 3, 2022, Ontario's official website will publish the names of people and businesses that have violated Ontario's 2015 Immigration Act. For an individual or company to be blacklisted, they must be subject to an administrative fine or injunction for violating the Act.
Ontario officials are encouraged to write to programintegrityteam@ontario.ca if they suspect that an immigrant, their representative or employer gave incorrect information when applying for an Ontario nomination. If the information changes while the application is being processed or after the immigrant has moved to Canada, they must report it immediately or face a fine or ban from the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program. The ban can be imposed for up to five years.
If an applicant's representative (immigration consultant or lawyer) is found guilty of getting the wrong information from the Ministry of Immigration, they will be barred from advising clients and applying for a nomination from Ontario instead. Checking an immigration consultant's licence was possible as it was, but now the province of Ontario will have additional warnings about unscrupulous consultants.
