ILAC will be able to enroll more students in 2024
BC has begun issuing attestation letters and has allocated more places to the ILAC school compared to 2023.
Canadian Academy ILAC is pleased to share good news in connection with the launch of issuing attestation letters in British Columbia. The provincial government has confirmed an increase in the number of training places for ILAC School and Tamwood International College in 2024.
ILAC School and Tamwood College continue enrollment in all available programs of study and welcome even more students.
Who must submit the attestation letter
The system of provincial attestation letters (PAL) came into effect following changes to student visas introduced by the Government of Canada on January 22, 2024. Accordingly, students who did not manage to apply for a study visa before this date may need to provide this document. The attestation letter is proof that the student is among the allocated places for study at a particular provincial institution.
The need to provide the attestation letter will depend on the course chosen and its duration.
Letters of attestation will be required for those who are going to enroll in a training course lasting more than 6 months. Such courses are:
- standard English language courses for 6 months or longer;
- English language courses to prepare you for Canadian institutions;
- educational programs at Tamwood College.
Who does not need a letter of attestation
If you have applied for your study visa before 08:30 a.m. on January 22, 2024, you are not affected by the new restrictions and related attetstation letters, even if the course starts later. You also do not need to obtain an attestation letter if you already have a student visa and only need to extend it.
In addition, the following courses do not require an attestation letter:
- English language courses for a maximum of 23 weeks;
- ILAC online classes (no duration limit);
- educational camps for children and teenagers.
It is worth noting that for all those courses that are less than 6 months in length, a student visa is generally not required — students can come on a tourist visa.

Even though the number of places for students at ILAC School has increased, you should not delay in applying for educational programs as the rate of course occupancy is very high. Attestation letters allocated for 2024 will be issued to students who plan to begin their programs of study by January 21, 2025. Once the provincial allocation runs out, the school will no longer be able to send attestation letters to applicants, and therefore they will no longer be able to apply for a student visa.
At the ILAC English Academy of Canada you will have the opportunity to learn English with professionals and native speakers. All materials are selected in such a way that you will be able to see the results of learning English after the first lesson.
