Alberta's second selection for medics for January
Province in search of skilled workers in the health sector.
Few things illustrate the need for medical professionals in Canada in general and the province of Alberta in particular like ongoing targeted immigration draws. On Jan. 16, the region held its second such draw for 2024. Twenty-two people received invitations.
This time, successful candidates were required to score 312 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System — that's 3 more than in the previous similar draw, which took place 2 weeks earlier. Points can be earned for factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills and so on.
All successful applicants must meet the following requirements:
- have an active profile in the Express Entry system;
- meet the minimum criteria of one of the three federal programs:
- score a minimum of 300 points in the Express Entry system;
- receive a job offer in Alberta in the health care industry;
- meet the requirements for obtaining a license to practice the profession;
- have one of the eligible professions — full list at the link.
