Moving to Canada has become more expensive

Moving to Canada has become more expensive

The Ministry of Immigration has increased the requirements for the amount of money to support a family.

Immigration Canada has raised the proof-of-payment amounts. This was probably due to global financial instability and inflation in the country, although increases have occurred before.

Now to confirm that you will be able to provide for yourself and your family after you move, you will need such funds:

Number of family members Required amount in Canadian dollars
1 $13 757
2 $17 127
3 $21 055
4 $25 564
5 $28 994
6 $32 700
7 $36 407
Each additional family member $3 706

These amounts are required as proof of ability to pay for people coming under the federal immigration programs and some provincial programs that rely on the Express Entry system. Other programs also have financial requirements, but the amounts may vary. Proof of funds is not necessary for those who have an employer's invitation and work experience in Canada.
