Canada's best universities 2022-2023
Three Canadian universities are among the top 100 best educational institutions in the world.
Canada has many good universities whose degrees are valued around the world, but among them, there are the best. U.S. News, a portal that evaluates universities, has published a new ranking for 2022-2023.
Three Canadian universities made it into the top 100 best institutions of higher education in the world. It includes institutions from 90 countries. Various indicators of universities, which influence the efficiency of education and the reputation of an educational institution, were evaluated.
The University of Toronto, with a score of 83.8 out of 100, ranked 18th overall because of its research reputation and the quality of its published articles. The university is known for its researchers' discovery of insulin in the 1920s.
In addition, the University of Toronto has been recognized for its large number of international students. The university has more than 77,000 students, thousands of whom come from more than 160 countries. The university also has more than 700 undergraduate programs and more than 200 graduate and postgraduate programs.
The University of British Columbia scored 77.5 and ranked 35th. There are more than 58,000 students. The university is known for its national subatomic physics laboratory, the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems, and the Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention.
At the University of British Columbia, depending on the campus, 13 to 23% of students are international. During their first year, they can take a special program to help them adapt and improve their English.
McGill University, located in the province of Quebec, scored 74.6 and ranked 54th in the world. It has more than 32,000 students, and about a quarter of them are foreigners. Despite the fact that the university is located in the French-speaking region, the main language of instruction is English.
The university is affiliated with several teaching hospitals and has more than 40 research centers. Among McGill University's achievements is the creation of the first artificial blood cell.
