Changes in immigration

Important news of the past week. Canada transitioned to the new National Occupational Classification (NOC). Because of this, the requirements in all immigration programs have changed. This is not the only change in immigration to Canada. It became known that from 2023, draws in the Express Entry system will become targeted. Now candidates who score higher for age, education, work experience, and language proficiency are invited through Express Entry. And targeted draws will allow Canada to select applicants according to their field of education, occupation, and the province where they are going to settle. Canada is primarily interested in healthcare and construction workers.

International students were given the right to work in Canada full-time instead of 20 hours a week, as was before. The measure will last until December 31, 2023.
