Province of Canada launches immigration program with free training
And that's only part of its benefits!
The province of New Brunswick is launching a new Critical Worker Pilot to attract professionals to jobs that are hard to fill. The requirements for applicants are not yet known, but there are already requirements for employers:
- assistance to the candidate with housing and transportation;
- if necessary, providing up to 200 hours of language training;
- providing on-the-job skills enhancement;
- assistance for workers wishing to obtain a Canadian secondary education.
The employers chosen to participate in the program were those who had previously hired foreigners under the New Brunswick Provincial Program and were willing to comply with the conditions imposed by the government. There are six such companies so far:
- Cooke Aquaculture;
- Groupe Savoie lnc.;
- Groupe Westco;
- Imperial Manufacturing;
- J.D. Irving Ltd.;
- McCain Foods.
Perhaps more employers will be added to the list later. The pilot program is launched for five years and will be constantly evaluated, and the authorities will make sure that all requirements are met.
The New Brunswick government sees such a program as innovative and beneficial to both immigrants and the province. Immigrants will get jobs and full support, and the region will be able to fill jobs and improve the economy.
