Canada will accept a new language test

The changes should take effect in early to mid-2023.

IRCC plans to introduce another language examination for the economic classes of candidates (Canadian experience class, skilled workers and entrepreneurs).

There is no word yet on what kind of test it will be.

The innovation was discussed back in May, and now it is known that the process of its implementation is planned for early to mid-2023.

In addition to choosing a new exam, the ministry intends to revise the conditions for appointing organizations responsible for language tests within 12 months, identify and eliminate problems with crediting results to the Canadian CLB knowledge assessment system.

Recall that Canada currently accepts the results of 4 exams:

  • English — IELTS General and CELPIP General;
  • French — TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
