Some Ukrainians are allowed not to submit biometric data
Visa centers in Europe are overloaded, Canada's Department of Immigration is taking action.
The following categories of Ukrainians are allowed to submit biometric data after arriving in Canada:
- between the ages of 14 and 17;
- over the age of 60;
- those who have ever obtained a Canadian visa and can provide proof of it.
There is a caveat regarding the last point — they must be people who have not violated the visa regime. If the fact of violating the rules of using a Canadian visa is discovered after issuing a new visa under the CUAET program, it will be considered malicious deception and can lead to a lot of trouble.
Children under the age of 14 are not required to submit biometric data.
Despite the fact that the Parliament of Canada voted in favor of granting visa-free travel to Ukrainians, the Ministry of Immigration defends its position: to maintain a minimum number of checks to ensure safety inside Canada. That's why those categories of Ukrainians who pose the least threat to security are exempt from submitting biometric data before crossing the border.
