British Columbia made a new selection
As in one of the past drawings, in addition to the general selection were invited managers.
On March 8, 2022, British Columbia sent out invitations to applicants who had previously applied to two streams: Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC. Within those streams, there were different requirements for applicants. See the table for the minimum score needed for a candidate in each category.
Category | Minimum score |
Skills Immigration — qualified specialists | 112 |
Skills Immigration — medium and low skilled specialists | 77 |
Skills Immigration — graduates of Canadian universities | 100 |
Express Entry BC (EEBC) — qualified specialists | 128 |
Express Entry BC (EEBC) — graduates of Canadian universities | 114 |
The province invited a total of 204 people this time. For 13 of them there were special requirements — 128 points had to be achieved by representatives of two specialties: managers of wholesale and retail trade and managers of restaurants and catering establishments.
Among the managers were both specialists and graduates of Canadian universities. In addition to the fact that managers must have higher professional and language skills than other candidates, there is another nuance. Managers are excluded from provincial employment standards, which determine the number of working hours, vacations, and overtime pay.
