Professionals in occupations for which it is difficult to find workers can immigrate through the International Skilled Worker – Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot.

The Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot of Saskatchewan’s provincial program is designed for professionals whose skills are in high demand in the provincial labour market. To participate, you need to get a job offer in Saskatchewan in a suitable occupation.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the pilot, you must meet the following requirements:

  • have at least a high school education;
  • get a job offer in Saskatchewan for one of the in-demand occupations (list below);
  • have experience in the same profession for which the job offer is received:
    • 6 months in Saskatchewan;
    • or 1 year outside of Saskatchewan within the last 3 years;
  • demonstrate proficiency in English or French at level 4 on the CLB scale;
  • for truck drivers: have a driving license obtained in Saskatchewan.

To search for jobs, use Saskatchewan's official employment website. The province also holds occasional job fairs where employers look for candidates with certain occupations. Once you receive a job offer, you can apply for the pilot on Saskatchewan's website.
