The best way to get to know a place is by travelling on your own. In this article, we will tell you how to explore the province in all seasons.

Ontario is Canada's most populous province. It is from here that tourists travel to Lake Superior, Niagara Falls and Polar Bear Park. There are many parks, nature reserves, attractions, museums and even "Uncle Tom's Cabin", the house-museum of Josiah Henson, the prototype of the literary hero.

But the best way to get to know the province is by travelling independently and outdoors. We have gathered for you 8 of the best adventures in the area.

Autumn

A bike ride and picnic is the perfect way to admire the colours of autumn. The route takes you through the Sylvan Valley. This valley is a combination of forested hills and farm fields. In the fall, the vistas are marvelous with red maples, golden oaks, and dark green pines. You can bike along a stretch of Highway 638 and finish with a picnic at Rock Lake in Old Mill Beach Park.

You can get a feel for fall by taking a short hike on the Voyager Trail. This trail is part of the Trans-Canada Trail and follows the course of the Mississauga River. The trail is only 8 km from Melvel Road to Tully Ho Park.
