Alberta held two immigration raffles at once
These are the most extensive selections in recent years.
Alberta has shared the results of two immigration selections that took place in the last week of August. Alberta's immigration program sent out a total of 850 invitations to apply for nominations from the province. The drawings took place among applicants who participated in the immigration stream with selection through Express Entry and were the largest in the last 3 years.
The first draw was held on August 23, in which 450 people were invited, and the passing score on Comprehensive Ranking System was 300. The next draw was held on August 30, with 400 people invited and a passing score of 301.
To receive an invitation in the drawing, applicants needed to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process applications for permanent residency under the three federal immigration programs:
- for qualified professionals;
- for professionals with experience in Canada;
- for working professionals.
Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This virtually guarantees an invitation to the subsequent Express Entry draw.
To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation from the Province of Alberta, keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
