New Brunswick launches new immigration program

New Brunswick launches new immigration program

It does not require a job offer or provincial experience.

New Brunswick will launch a new pilot immigration program to meet the province's growing workforce needs. Its feature is that the candidate does not have to look for work.

The pilot will begin April 1, 2022. International graduates educated at one of the following New Brunswick colleges will be able to apply for permanent residency:

These colleges offer various training programmes lasting from 10 months to several years. Even those who, for whatever reason, did not obtain a work permit after training can immigrate through the stream, as the candidate does not need a work contract or work experience in Canada. However, the education must be obtained in one of the 19 professions:

Professionals of the listed professions, depending on their specialty, earn on average from $24,000 to $69,000 CAD per year in Canada.

The stream also has the advantage of allowing you to immigrate relatively quickly. Many graduate programs require the candidate to find a job or work experience in Canada. In this case, you can apply for a provincial nomination right after you graduate from college.

"This initiative is something we've been working on for quite some time, and we're excited to implement it," said Trevor Holder, Secretary of Education and Training. — Immigrants play a key role in addressing our labor market challenges, and by launching this new immigration stream, we are giving our universities the opportunity to train more of the skilled workers that New Brunswick needs."

New Brunswick has not yet published detailed eligibility requirements and eligibility details, information will become available this fall. Immigrant.Today keeps track of changes to immigration programs, so they will appear on our website.
