A million expats can't be wrong

A million expats can

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released a report on its performance in helping immigrants.

This report is the culmination of a very extensive effort by the Department to collect data on people who came to Canada from 2015 to 2019. During that time, Canada's resettlement program, run by 572 organizations (excluding Quebec), has helped more than 1 million immigrants smoothly integrate into Canadian society.

The document collects and analyses immigrants' experience of social and professional adaptation in the country, describes their successes and problems. It also tells about different services provided to immigrants, such as: help in finding a job, in finding a place to live, in learning English or French. In addition, newcomers were explained how they can contact all kinds of necessary organizations and social services in their place of residence, the nuances of Canadian labour law and many other important information.

Immigrants are warmly welcomed in new communities

"Adjustment services have a critical place in our immigration system; they are key to the success of newcomers to Canada," said Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino. — Immigration is now central to our post-pandemic recovery. And the results of our work, gathered in the report, can ensure that every new Canadian now has what it takes to thrive in this country.

The document says that the majority of newcomers gave the highest rating to those organizations that helped them in the first stages. The vast majority — 92% of immigrants — said that they were warmly welcomed in the communities in which they lived.

Canada recognized as best place to start a business

Although the IRCC report compiled and analysed data from before the pandemic began, it was entirely consistent with the results of other statistical studies that have been carried out since then.

Back in February of this year, residency and citizenship planning organization Henley & Partners and Deep Knowledge Analytics did their analysis and found that Canada is the best place for investors to get a permanent residence permit during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their report, Investment Migration Programs, Health Management and Risk Readiness Assessment, provides a detailed analysis of 31 countries offering Residency and Citizenship for Investment (RCBI) programs. It also states that Canada's offerings under the Start-Up Visa program make it the best country for business immigration in the COVID-19 world.
