Quebec schoolchildren allowed to remove their masks
The hot weather has forced health authorities to reconsider some restrictions.
Quebec Education Minister Jean-François Roberge has confirmed that the Ministry of Health will allow school students to remove their masks during class hours when they are in their seats from June 8 until the end of the school year.
The Ministry of Health stresses that such a measure will be valid only for the period of intense heat, if the operation of air conditioning is not enough for a comfortable stay in the office.
Earlier, Roberge announced that if 75% of the province's 12— to 17-year-olds were vaccinated, the next school year could start already without masks and distance compliance.
