New Brunswick seeks IT professionals
The province offers the opportunity to immigrate to in-demand workers.
New Brunswick employers are looking for data scientists and data engineers to fill shortages of skilled workers in the IT sector.
Data Scientists perform data analysis, interpretation and modeling to solve global business problems. The position requires problem solving skills, high competence and excellent communication skills.
Data Engineers are responsible for implementing tools and codes for data collection, analysis, transformation and storage. They may also analyze and report on data quality and completeness and provide recommendations on data management. Engineers work in teams with data analysts and sometimes with software developers.
Requirements for candidates
- have 1 year of full-time experience in the last 5 years (30 hours or more per week)
- or in the case of part-time employment, have a total of 1,560 hours of experience that have been gained within 24 months;
- have the means to support yourself and your family after you move to Canada.
Only paid work as a data processing specialist, data engineer or in a related profession is taken into account. The amount of money required depends on whether the candidate plans to immigrate through one of the federal programs or the Atlantic Immigration Program.
