Canadian airline cancels flights to Israel
The reason was the fighting.
Canada's largest airline, Air Canada, cancelled a flight that was scheduled to leave for Israel on May 11. The flight was first delayed by 24 hours, then the airline announced that it had cancelled the flight, as well as a cancelled flight from Israel to Canada for May 12.
The reason was the fighting in Israel. Militants have fired hundreds of rockets into Israel over the past few days, including at Tel Aviv's main airport. Other airlines that have cancelled flights for the same reason include American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
The next Air Canada flight is scheduled for the weekend from Toronto. Its fate is still unknown, the airline is monitoring the situation in the country and will adjust the schedule if necessary.
The airline will contact the passengers who could not fly and offer them to rebook the ticket for another date or refund their money.
