Nova Scotia invites francophone candidates
The province has shared the results of a new immigration draw.
On March 29, Nova Scotia issued invitations to apply for a nomination for permanent residency in Canada through the Labour Market Priorities immigration stream for French-speaking candidates. The province published the drawing criteria, but did not specify the exact number of invitations issued.
The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities program invites candidates to immigrate with the province's labour market needs in mind.
The invitations, issued on 29 March, were sent to candidates who had chosen French as their first official language and had a CLB level 9 or higher in all French language parameters (reading, writing, listening and speaking). Candidates must also have a CLB level of at least 7 or higher in English in all four language parameters.
They also required a bachelor's degree or completion of a three-year program of study at a university, college, or college.
In addition, candidates must have an Express Entry profile to qualify for nomination from the province of Nova Scotia under this program.
Once Nova Scotia has sent out invitations, also known as letters of interest, invited candidates have 60 calendar days to complete a provincial nomination application.
If they receive a nomination from the province, they will automatically be awarded an additional 600 points on the Complex Ranking System, which will effectively guarantee that they will receive an invitation to apply for the CoML in a subsequent Express Entry drawing.
Keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations to increase your chances of receiving an invitation.
