Vaccination on camera for evidence: measures from Canadian officials

There has been an ongoing debate about the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine. A number of European countries have previously rejected it, but Canada continues to use the drug because the benefits of the vaccine are thought to outweigh the possible risks of side effects. In addition, the European Medicines Agency has concluded that AstraZeneca does not increase the risk of thrombosis, which is exactly what the vaccine was suspected of doing.

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said she will give AstraZeneca vaccination on camera to encourage others to get vaccinated. She laments that doubts cause people to refuse to be immunized.

Elliot, by the way, is not the first. Last week, Quebec's health minister was also publicly vaccinated with AstraZeneca.

Now in Ontario, people over 60 are being offered the AstraZeneca vaccine at pharmacies. Elliott says she'd be happy to get vaccinated on camera if it would convince anyone to follow her example.
