Agri-Food Immigration Pilot
The immigration pilot aims to attract workers to Canada's agri-food sector, especially in meat processing and mushroom production.
The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot is for experienced, non-seasonal foreign workers who work in Canada's agriculture and agri-food industries. The pilot program was launched in 2020 and will run until May 2025.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the pilot, candidates must:
- 1 year of work experience in Canada in the past 3 years, the experience must be non-seasonal and in one of the eligible occupations (list below);
- proficiency in English or French, at least level 4 on the Canadian CLB scale;
- at least a high school education;
- job offer for a full-time, non-seasonal in Canada, outside of Quebec.
Suitable occupations
Candidates with the following professions are eligible for the immigration pilot:
- butchers;
- meat cutters and fishmongers;
- industrial butchers and meat cutters;
- agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors;
- livestock workers and farm machinery operators;
- livestock labourers;
- labourers in food and beverage processing;
- harvesting labourers.
Settlement funds
If you have suitable work experience but are not currently working in Canada, you will also need to prove you have enough money to immigrate:

How to apply
To apply for immigration through the Agri-Food Pilot Program, the applicant must gather the application package and complete the required forms listed on the Canadian government website and then send them by email to the same address listed there.
