The Skilled Workers Outside Canada stream of the Prince Edward Island provincial program is designed for skilled professionals who are outside of Canada and have received a job offer in the province.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a skilled worker stream outside of Canada, you must meet the following requirements:
- be between the ages of 18 and 59;
- get a job offer in the province in occupation of NOC skill level 0, A or B (managerial, skilled or trades occupation);
- have 2 years of work experience within the last 5 years;
- have completed education in a program of 2 years or more;
- demonstrate proficiency in English or French at level 4 on the CLB scale (basic level) or provide a Workforce Job Offer Form where the employer states that your language level is sufficient for the job;
- be able to financially support yourself and your family members.
Important: you can immigrate through this stream only if your employer in Prince Edward Island first contacts the provincial immigration office and gets approval.
Candidate evaluation
Prince Edward Island uses the provincial Expression of Interest system to assess candidates for immigration. It offers up to 100 points for factors such as age, education, language level, work experience, employment, and adaptability. Points are awarded as follows:
