Immigration to Nova Scotia for graduate entrepreneurs

Nova Scotia university graduates who want to start a business in the province can immigrate through the International Graduate Entrepreneur stream.

The International Graduate Entrepreneur stream of Nova Scotia's provincial program allows recent graduates from the province's universities to obtain permanent residency. The main requirement is to establish or acquire a business in Nova Scotia and manage it for one year.

Requirements

To be eligible for immigration through the International Graduate Entrepreneur stream, you must meet the following requirements:

  • express intention to live in the province while owning and actively managing a business;
  • complete a full-time educational program lasting at least 2 years at any university in the province or at the Nova Scotia Community College;
  • have a valid post-graduation work permit;
  • have at least 1 year of experience owning and managing a business in Nova Scotia with a minimum 33.33% ownership stake;
  • demonstrate English or French language proficiency at CLB level 7 (upper intermediate) on the CLB scale.

How to Apply

If you're interested in immigrating through the graduate entrepreneur stream, you can create an account in the provincial "Expression of Interest" system. The province evaluates candidates based on criteria such as language proficiency, education, business management experience, age, adaptability, and more. Successful candidates will also receive an invitation from provincial representatives.
