Immigration to Nova Scotia for skilled workers

Professionals who have found work in Nova Scotia can immigrate through the Skilled Worker stream.

The Skilled Worker stream of Nova Scotia's provincial program is designed for professionals of all skill levels who have received a job offer in the province.

Eligibility

To be able to immigrate through the Skilled Worker stream, you must meet the following requirements:

  • be between the ages of 21 and 55;
  • have at least a high school education;
  • get a job offer in the province;
  • have the necessary work experience:
    • 1 year in any country if the occupation belongs to TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the NOC National Occupational Classification (managerial, high-skilled, and trades occupations);
    • 6 months for Nova Scotia employer who issued a job offer if the occupation belongs to TEER 4 or 5 of NOC (low-skilled and unskilled occupations);
  • demonstrate knowledge of English or French:
    • CLB level 5 (intermediate level) for NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, and 3 occupations;
    • CLB level 4 (basic level) for NOC TEER 4 and 5 occupations;
  • show enough money to start living in the province.
