Immigration to the Northwest Territories with selection through Express Entry
Candidates who have secured employment in the territory may immigrate through the NWT Express Entry stream.
The NWT Express Entry stream of the Northwest Territories program allows highly skilled professionals who are registered in the Express Entry system and have found work in the territory to immigrate.
Eligibility requirements
To apply for the NWT Express Entry stream, you must meet certain criteria:
- be registered in the Express Entry system and meet the requirements of one of the federal immigration programs:
- have a job offer in the Northwest Territories for a profession that falls under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 categories of the Canadian NOC (management, highly skilled, and skilled trades occupations);
- have 1 year of work experience in the last 10 years;
- demonstrate proficiency in English or French:
- for TEER 0 and 1 occupations — CLB level 7 (upper-intermediate level);
- for TEER 2 and 3 occupations — CLB level 5 (intermediate level).
