Master's Degree in Canada: B.C. universities welcome international students
We are glad to tell you about the Master's programs in the Province of British Columbia, which we were introduced to in the webinar "Virtual CPF – Pathway to Master's".
We have already shared with you the news that we were lucky to attend the webinar "Virtual CPF — Pathway to Master's", where Canadian universities presented their Master's programs. We also talked about the many benefits of pursuing a master's degree — in fact, the new restrictions on student visas to Canada have barely affected master's and doctoral programs. Students in these fields of study still receive work authorization after graduation and do not need to provide provincial attestation letters.
Today we will highlight the universities in the Province of British Columbia that participated in the second session of the Virtual CPF — Pathway to Master's webinar with their presentations.
New York Institute of Technology
New York Institute of Technology was founded in 1955 in New York, USA, as a non-profit educational organization. In 2000, the university launched master's programs in Vancouver, with enrollment in January, May and September.
The Institute offers three graduate degree options: a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Science in Cybersecurity, and a Master of Energy Management. Tuition for these programs will cost approximately $51,354 CAD. At the same time, students who intend to start the Business Administration program in the spring or summer semester will have an exceptional opportunity to win an $8,000 CAD scholarship.
Trinity Western University
It is the second oldest university in the province of British Columbia. Trinity Western University has two campuses: in the heart of Richmond and in the rural community of Langley, a 45-minute drive from Vancouver. A student-centered environment and a wide range of specialized study programs make studying here attractive and comfortable.
The most popular Master's degree programs at the university are various business administration programs, in particular International Business. This program prepares business management leaders to the highest international standards and includes courses in marketing, finance, economics, human resources management, and so on. The cost of a Master's degree in Business Administration is $35,225 CAD.
Apart from this, Trinity Western University is also ready to offer other directions, such as the study of arts, humanities, linguistics, and psychology.
Royal Roads University
Royal Roads University is located in Victoria. The institution's core policy is a personalized approach to learning, teaching, and research. 70% of the university's students successfully complete their graduate degrees, which is the highest percentage in Canada.

Among the Master's programs offered, you can choose from Global Management, Tourism Management, Intercultural and International Communication, Environment and Management, or Global Leadership. Admission takes place three times a year: in January, May, and September. The duration of each program is 12 months or more, and the cost per year is approximately $18,000 CAD, with the possibility of a scholarship.
Fairleigh Dickinson University
This international university has campuses in four countries: two in the United States, one in England, and another one in Vancouver. Fairleigh Dickinson University can offer three graduate programs for students wishing to study in Canada.
The Master of Administrative Science program involves the study of such disciplines as human resource management, international organization leadership, global technology, and computer security. This program is the most expensive, costing approximately $43,815 CAD.
Studying for a Master's in Hospitality Management is a little less expensive, at around $42,400 CAD. This program is the oldest and most prestigious in the United States, and Fairleigh Dickinson University's School of Hospitality was ranked in the top ten in CEOWorld Magazine's 2024 ranking.
The Master of Science in Applied Computer Science program costs the same as the Hospitality Management program, and offers students who are interested in further scientific research a direction with a focus on conducting research and writing a thesis.
Thompson Rivers University
Thompson Rivers University is located in the city of Kamloops. It is a modern type of university, closely following current trends in education and striving to develop new programs that meet the demands of today's world.
During the webinar, representatives of the university presented several master's degree programs. Particular emphasis was placed on the new Master's program in Human Rights and Social Justice, which opened at the university recently, but has already gained a lot of positive feedback. The cost of this program is $30,290 CAD.
Also featured was today's popular $51,381 CAD Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, which opens up job opportunities as a management consultant, investment bank specialist, management analyst, or marketing manager.
Another interesting option were two similar Master's programs in Environmental Management. One of them is project-oriented, the other is research-oriented, but the cost of both is the same — $54,909 CAD. The Master of Science in Nursing program was relatively inexpensive, costing $36,046 CAD. This course is designed for those international students who already have a nursing certificate or diploma obtained in their home country.
Enrollment in master's programs in 2024
As we mentioned, Master's in Canada 2024 has proven to be one of the best options for enrollment and relocation as it bypasses many of the restrictions imposed by the Canadian government in January this year.
Nevertheless, enrolling in a Canadian university requires a competent approach, as you should carefully study all the requirements of the program, calculate the necessary costs for moving and studying, properly collect and submit the documents for a student visa.
