Changes to the Atlantic Immigration Program

The ministry announced nice relaxations in the procedure.

IRCC has announced adjustments to the Atlantic Immigration Program. The changes should make the procedure more comfortable for applicants.

First, the obligation to submit documents for a residence permit within exactly 90 days after the application for a work permit is abolished. Now the candidate can prepare the papers at his or her own pace and not be afraid of being late.

Secondly, the validity period of the work permit has been increased to two years, so there will be more time to settle in and establish yourself in the province.

Finally, officials have updated the language on NOC 2021 to avoid inaccuracies and ambiguities.

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is one of the regional programs for professionals and university graduates to obtain permanent residence. The language, education, and financial requirements for this program are lower than for federal programs.
