Now everyone has enough money to immigrate through one of the programs

Canada has reduced the required amount of funds in the accounts for the application by several times.

The Canadian government has changed the financial requirements for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program. The amounts have been reduced by several times — so much so that literally anyone can now show such funds in their account.

There are financial requirements in every immigration program. You don't need to give this money to someone — you just have to show that you have it. The amount depends on the number of people in your family. You are supposed to be able to settle down in the new place with this money.

Previously, the Rural and Northern Pilot required candidates to show about $9,000 CAD per person and $14,000 CAD for a family of three. But those who apply now have to show substantially less:

  • 1 person — $2,290 CAD;
  • 2 people — $2,851 CAD;
  • 3 people — $3,505 CAD;
  • 4 people — $4,256 CAD;
  • 5 people — $4,827 CAD;
  • 6 people — $5,444 CAD;
  • 7 people — $6,062 CAD;
  • every other family member — $618 CAD.

The amounts are updated annually. Whether there will be the same low requirements in the future is unknown.

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot allows you to immigrate to 11 small towns in Canada, which, contrary to the program name, are located along the country's southern border. The requirement is to find a job in one of the participating communities.

In addition to the required funds in the account, you also need to consider expenses such as taking language tests, evaluating diplomas, translating documents, paying for immigration services, and the like. More details on how much money you need for moving.
